In my Strategic Product Management class with Professor Jain, I learned that a company needs to be focused on the customer to be successful. We were given hands-on experience to develop a product for Steelcase, a high-end furnishing company. Like a business, we went through different stages to understand the target audience, from researching the industry, conducting surveys, analyzing the results, and designing the product to the customer’s liking.

From this class, we learned how to create not just a product, but a product that customers would use. In addition to the technical and analytical skills, this course has given me exposure to working with a small team that required daily meetings and collaboration.
