Fall 2018 – MKT 372 Final Presentation

In my Strategic Product Management class with Professor Jain, I learned that a company needs to be focused on the customer to be successful. We were given hands-on experience to develop a product for Steelcase, a high-end furnishing company. Like a business, we went through different stages to understand the target audience, from researching the industry, conducting surveys, analyzing the results, and designing the product to the customer’s liking.

Key Learnings

  • Creating invigorating interview questions
  • Innovating new product designs
  • Presenting strategic decisions to stakeholders

From this class, we learned how to create not just a product, but a product that customers would use. In addition to the technical and analytical skills, this course has given me exposure to working with a small team that required daily meetings and collaboration. Four other inspiring individuals and I formulated every aspect of the report together which is included below for view.
